GM,
It has been a while since my last Substack article as I have been busy building out Kubernáo, working on some DAO proposals and keeping up with this crazy market has all been very time consuming, but I am back again.
Let’s talk about some strategies which the DAO can potentially incorporate to ensure best outcomes for the community. Some of my main fears and thoughts around the DAO is voter participation and fears around fiscal sustainability leading to the rejection of some great ideas.
I have seen a comment on a different projects discord that I think rings as a good warning:
‘I nominate “Someone should” as the slogan for all DAOs’.
We need to realise all the good ideas and ensure we build them into finished proposals. In the PROOF team, we have proven builders and product people that can help guide us along the way when building proposals for the DAO.
Ok so lets breakdown some of the ideas that I have come across:
One way to ensure proposals are of high quality and offer competitive pricing would be to introduce a Request for Proposal (RFP) section in the DAO. This is great for bringing in proposals around software and building out necessary DAO structures at a competitive price. It can essentially work as a bounty to complete certain necessary proposals for the DAO. To read more on RFPs I suggest reading this article on Politeia.

The DAO could build a Community House on the Nouns Prop House platform. This could be attached with a shark tank/dragons den sort of set up, where the people behind the proposal need to come on a spaces to discuss their idea with a panel of Community members asking them questions. After this the community would vote on the proposals they like best via Prop House. The mere fact of going through this style of competition would mean there would be a vetting process and would have backing from MBs as well as ensuring the proposals can be completed successfully.
I have seen Mattness suggest the idea of introducing a “giving to get” system for the Proof token, where the token would be initially locked and to unlock the tokens you need to gift some of the tokens to Moonbird holders. This could incentivise Moonbird holders to create content and build things that the community wants to see happen.
In order to promote voting participation the DAO could offer tokens/ POAPs to those who vote for a Proposal that ends up being completed successfully. To do this we need to set out what constitutes success for each Proposal.
I have seen discussions around private voting. Personally I believe it is far better to have voting public as then reputations are attached. This will also help when introducing delegations as if you delegate to someone and you can see what they vote on and ensure it aligns with your beliefs/interests.
I believe Sub Parliaments can act as community hubs and investment hubs and actually collaborate with each other and harness their networks to build great proposals for the DAO. This is something that the community could start to build out as a network in advance of the DAO being created.
Lastly, I want to welcome people to the Kubernáo Sub-parliament if they have any proposal ideas or believe they have the skills to help someone build out their proposal idea. We have already seen over 10 ideas submitted and receive feedback from the community and hope to see many more within the coming months.
GN and hoot! hoot!
